↗Real impact, real numbers
Every donation counts! A vehicle sold for $1,500 can provide approximately 40-60 shelter nights at our partner agencies, where the cost per bed-night typically ranges from $25 to $50. With a $2,500 contribution, you can fund two families' one-month transitional housing rent subsidies, or supply street-outreach teams with essential materials for up to a year. At the $5,000 tier, you’re empowering shelters to provide extended support, ensuring more individuals find their way home and lessening their chances of returning to homelessness.
How we vet recipient partners
We prioritize partnerships with nonprofit organizations that adhere to stringent HUD Continuum-of-Care standards. These partners must demonstrate low shelter-to-housed transition rates, ideally below 20%, ensuring that fewer individuals cycle back into homelessness. Furthermore, we require verifiable Form 990 documentation showing a program-expense ratio of 75% or higher, affirming that the majority of funds directly support program services.
How proceeds flow
Upon the auction sale of your donated vehicle, after covering towing and processing costs, approximately 70-80% of the gross proceeds are allocated to our partner organizations. They then apply their program-expense ratios to ensure that your contribution effectively supports key shelter programs, maximizing the impact of your generosity.
